How to find your Bryant Thermostat’s model number?
To get the best support for your thermostat, you have to know what model you have. If you can’t remember the model number anymore, you have a few ways.
If you still have them, you can find the number on the brochure, box, or any document that came with your device. Also check on the back, front, or sides of the device. Bryant has made this easy to find, likely on a label together with the serial or power rating.
Bryant Thermostat Instructions
Installation
With the system powered down, the thermostat must be connected to the HVAC system and power supply through the wiring or battery, depending on your thermostat model. The thermostat then needs to be mounted securely.
Then the thermostat needs to be configured through the interface. If there is Wi-Fi functionality, the devices can be connected. Other settings can be made such as scheduling or linking smart devices (depending on the model, can be done through a smartphone also).
Bryant advises reading their entire setup manual first before initiating installation. Hazards like injury and even death are a possibility.
Operation
Making simple changes to the temperature is usually as simple as pressing the Up/Down buttons to your desired setting. Changing the operation mode is as simple as pressing Mode to toggle between heating and cooling. And changing the fan mode by, you guessed it, pressing the fan button.
Programming/Scheduling
This can be easily down on the newer touchscreen models, where you usually select Menu > Schedules. You’ll also have the convenience of Guided Schedules for an easier way to do it.
Older programmable models can access this through the set button, then navigating to daily schedules.
These instructions vary depending on your model. Make sure to acquire the correct Bryant thermostat manual for your model to get the best instructions.
Bryant Thermostat Troubleshooting
Here are some troubleshooting steps compiled from Bryant thermostat manuals and resources from experts to help you get a headstart on issues you encounter.
Heating/cooling
Firstly, make sure the correct mode is operating. Check that Heat or Cool is displayed on the thermostat, whichever is supposed to. Otherwise, turn the correct mode on.
Most systems also employ a delay on switching modes to protect your equipment, so allow a few minutes to let it cycle.
When was the last time your system had maintenance? Regular maintenance helps your system function well. Check the equipment filters, vents, and grills to get a quick assessment of your system.
Malfunctioning thermostat
Check that your thermostat is getting enough power. How long has it been on the same battery?
If not on battery, check the c-wire (or g-wire, depending on the setup). Consider leaving this to the professionals.
Types of Bryant Thermostats
Bryant thermostats are neatly categorized according to their types. This starts with non-programmable thermostats, then there are programmable, Wi-Fi, and smart thermostats.
Smart thermostats
Smart thermostats are built with a lot of techs nowadays. On top of the Bryant lineup is their Evolution Connex thermostat, which they describe as more than just thermostats. Bryant considers them as “smart controls”, capable of many integrated features, especially with compatible equipment.
Bryant has partnerships with other brands, like ecobee and Cor Home Automation, allowing it to distribute their models compatible with other Bryant products.
Wi-Fi
These types of thermostats upgrades from regular programmable thermostats. The Bryant Housewise thermostat is an example. With wireless capability, they bring a lot more to the table, having some of the features of smart thermostats. You can control them remotely through wireless devices, receive alerts and reminders, and make more advanced programming.
Programmable
These thermostats are less capable than their wireless counterparts, but still provide value with the basic functionalities and cheaper price tag. Bryant has them under the Preferred and Legacy series.
Non-programmable
Though these are usually the cheapest thermostats, they do enough to just work. They are less complicated to use. With Bryant non-programmable thermostats, you can have a nice, unobtrusive design with a large, easy-to-read display, and can still be reminded to replace the filters.
About Bryant
Bryant is a long-standing company that started with Charles Bryant, emphasizing quality and reliability from their products. Bryant has been serving for more than a decade, providing homes with heating and cooling products. You might recognize them from their motto, Whatever It Takes.
Along with thermostats, their other products range from HVAC equipment like ACs and heat pumps to air quality appliances like humidifiers and ventilators. They even offer some light commercial rooftop products and split systems.
They’ve been active during the COVID season, able to patent an air purifier technology to effectively fight bacteria and viruses, including the SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19.
