Despite significant advancements in artificial intelligence, robotic vacuum cleaners such as the Dreametech Z10 Pro might occasionally deviate from their set course, potentially creating a hazard for objects like bags and bare wires. In response to this problem, we conducted a comprehensive examination of this particular model. It is vital to emphasize that this model is equipped with a 3D scanner to identify and evade any obstacles.
The Dreametech Z10 Pro packs an impressive array of features, most notably its ability to dynamically avoid obstacles. However, it is let down a little by its mopping function.
- 4000 Pa suction capacity
- LiDAR + 3D Scanning technology for smart navigation
- Alexa voice control capabilities
The Dreametech Z10 Pro is well-armed in terms of features, so lets dive in and see how it performs.
Vacuum Technology
With a 4000 Pa suction capacity, the Dreametech Z10 Pro is undoubtedly one of the most powerful robot vacuums available on the market today.
If you're unsure how strong 4000 Pa is, you should know that vacuums with 2000 Pa can suck up AA batteries. In short, it will definitely clear up the finest of dust along with the more sizable debris.
You also have 4 vacuum modes, so you can choose how powerful (and loud!) you want your robot to be!
Another aspect we like about this machine is its anti-tangle brush-roller. The brush features V-shaped bristles to grab on to hair and fur to prevent tangling and blockages – making it perfect for buyers with pets. You will still need to clear out the hair every now and then with the supplied cleaning tool.
The only downside to this robot vacuum is the absence of a HEPA filter that would have made the perfect accompaniment to such an extensive suction capacity.
Mopping Feature
It's impossible to overlook the Z10 Pro's mopping feature, considering that the device is a hybrid vacuum / mop.
The truth is, Dreametech's mopping capacity isn't as strong as its vacuuming technology, let us tell you why. To begin with, the product includes a 0.04 gallon (150 mL) water tank which is pretty tiny! Also, there is a fixed microfiber mop-pad. The appliance ‘mops' by spraying water on the floor and wiping it with the mop pad.
There's no source of vertical pressure to make the mopping more comprehensive, and the non-moving mop pad means removing or loosening tough stains isn't as easy with the Dreametech Z10 Pro.
You are also told not to use any detergents which means you are not really cleaning the floor – you are more wetting the floor!
This robot vacuum is much more suitable for buyers with carpeted surfaces, looking for strong suction. (It has a carpet detection function to know when to boost suction).
The W10 Dreamtech model seems to be a much better fit if you need a specialist robot mop.
LiDAR & 3D Scanning Technology
LiDAR – Light Detection and Ranging – is a technology that was used to examine and map out the Earth's surface. Now, this fantastic technology is employed in vacuums to measure ranges with the aid of a pulsed radar. But, what does that mean for you?
Robot vacuums with LiDAR technology, like the Dreametech Z10 Pro, can navigate through complex parts of your home terrain by measuring surroundings and mapping out a route in real-time. It's quite impressive technology as you see the bot map out the room for the first time. It means the robot won't damage itself by crashing into doors or furniture.
Some manufacturers use VSLAM instead of LIDAR which involves a camera capturing images in real-time and making decisions based on those images. I personally find LIDAR to be more consistent however I think there may be more potential in VSLAM in years to come.
When first creating a map, I recommend not to stand or walk around the robot. The 3D obstacle avoidance will constantly try to avoid you and in doing, so make the map creation more difficult. I ended up deleting the first map and letting it build fully on its own!
Other Sensors
With the cliff sensors, you don't have to worry about the robot vacuum falling off ledges and breaking. Combine that with the machine's slim 20 mm height, and it means there's barely any place this handy cleaner won't be able to reach.
Customized Cleaning
As convenient as smart gadgets are, remote access and control through a smartphone app is something else entirely.
With the Z10 Pro, you'll get access to customizable settings where you can set up a cleaning routine to suit your workweek, create go and no-go zones, and of course, overlook the product's daily cleaning reports.
In short, you can begin cleaning your house while you’re at work and return to a spotless abode. Dreametech's Z10 Pro is also one of the select robot vacuums that offer voice control capacity. If your smartphone is out of range, give Alexa a shout, and your robot vacuum will appear like magic.
Self-Emptying
This vacuum also includes a base station with a hefty 1-gallon dust bag that requires changing once every 65 days. Fortunately, the dust tank within the base station is self-cleaning, making manual cleaning fairly straightforward. The 5200 mAh battery offers a run time of 150 minutes, but the charge time ranges between 6 to 8 hours.
- 3D obstacle detection sensors are great to avoid cables and items on the ground
- Self Emptying Base Station and 1-gallon dust bag means this is very low maintenance!
- It offers a continuous run time of 150 minutes for larger households.
- Alexa voice control so you can order it around!
- The fixed mop-pad isn't ideal for deep cleaning.
- Only 2 dust bags included. Would have been nice to get more
- The self-emptying is loud!
- No HEPA filter.
Decision-Making Factors
Powerful 4000 Pa Suction
A vacuum is only as good as its powerful motor and suction capacity. That's why one of the highlights of the Dreametech Z10 Pro is that it's able to clear out dust and debris of any kind.
From light-weight objects like hair or fur to food particles and other types of waste, this robot vacuum is more than capable of keeping your home dirt-free. In addition, its design, suction capacity, and V-shaped bristle brush make it suitable for covered or carpeted surfaces.
A smart robot without smart navigation? That sounds like a recipe for disaster. Without LiDAR technology, robot vacuums would find it difficult to maneuver your home's layout and keep itself intact.
The Dreametech Z10 Pro includes LiDAR mapping and features anti-drop technology that helps the vacuum steer clear of stairways and ledges. This way, you don't have to worry about coming home to your robot vacuum in pieces from a hard fall.
LiDAR also works in low light conditions compared to VSLAM, which is an added benefit.
This navigation technology also comes in handy to preserve your furniture from scratches or bumps that can dislodge fragile showpieces. You can also set virtual no-go zones and perimeters if the robot is prone to get stuck somewhere (like under a couch).
Remote Access via the App and Voice Control
Imagine being able to control your robot vacuum remotely and manage spring cleaning at home by shouting vacuum instructions to Alexa. Sound convenient?
The Z10 Pro by Dreametech makes cleaning your home all that much easier, no matter where you are. The smartphone app affords users benefits like scheduled cleaning and no-go zones, whereas being compatible with Alexa means you can monitor the vacuum at home without ever having to leave your bed or couch.
The Xiaomi / Mi Home App is also pretty feature-rich and not as buggy as some competitor apps.
Hands-Free Cleaning
The Z10 Pro may require users to remove the prominent 1-gallon dust bag by hand every 65 days, but the bag is pre-sealed, which means you're safe from the contaminants and microbes trapped within it.
Not only is that infinitely easier than cleaning most standard vacuum dust bags, but it's also more hygienic and safer for dust-allergic individuals.
Besides that, the 65-day wait for a bag replacement means avoiding dealing with dust or other potential allergens of any kind by letting the vacuum robot do all the work for you.
The Verdict
There's no doubt the Dreametech Z10 Pro makes for a powerful vacuum that can suck up most types of debris and dirt. However, if you're looking for a robot vacuum that can deliver powerful mopping as well as vacuuming, then this might not be the one for you.

I have the Dreame Z10 Pro and it doesn’t see my wifi network. How can I get it to recogmize it?

Perhaps you have a 5GHz Wi-Fi network? As far as I know, it only works with 2.4GHz.
Also, I had to make sure the bot was right next to the router for the initial pairing.
